Four years after doing the country proud by winning a record of nine gold medals at Beijing 2022, the Chinese delegation is looking to achieve its best medal haul at an overseas edition of the Winter Olympics, competing in 91 out of the total 116 medal events across 16 sports disciplines in Italy.
Capping off the parade was the host Italian delegation, consisting of an all-time record of 196 athletes and led by legendary short-track speed skater Arianna Fontana, the reigning women's 500m Olympic champion, and her Alpine skiing counterpart Federica Brignone.
