The athletes parade, in another novel presentation, took place at four locations at the same time, with the majority of athletes in San Siro, ice sport athletes in Milan, and three other snow sports clusters — Livigno, Predazzo, and Cortina — for athletes competing and residing across the Italian Alps mountain areas.
Led by men's speed skater Ning Zhongyan and women's short-track speed skater Zhang Chutong as flagbearers, the majority of the 126-athlete Chinese delegation — among a total 92 participating NOCs — marched into San Siro to rousing cheers from Chinese spectators from the stands, while their compatriots in snow sports also enjoyed their own parades at the other three sites.
