Rail travel experienced the most significant growth among all transport modes, with an estimated 12 million passengers, reflecting a 15.5 percent increase from last year. Waterway passenger numbers reached 600,000, up by 12.7 percent, while air travel saw a moderate increase of 5.3 percent, with 2.19 million passengers taking to the skies.

Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, is traditionally the most significant travel period in China, as millions return home to reunite with their families. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for all passengers.
