URUMQI - Schools in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have resumed morning checkup for students and teachers after reports of at least two A/H1N1 cases in the region's Hotan prefecture, local?health authorities said Sunday.

According to the urgent circular jointly released on Friday by the region's education and health departments, all high schools, primary schools and kindergartens should perform morning inquiry and examination.

People carrying flu symptoms of fever, cough and sore throat will be reported to health department for further check to prevent spread of A/H1N1 flu virus.

The circular said any class with three confirmed A/H1N1 cases should be suspended for 15 days, and a school would be suspended for 15 days in case of seven cases being confirmed.

It said group activities would also be minimized during the spring, a peak season for flu.

Since March, at least two A/H1N1 cases have been confirmed in the Hotan prefecture, according to the circular, and it did not disclose the detail about the cases.
