BEIJING - China on Thursday urged the international community to make joint efforts to support Libya's political transition and post-war reconstruction.

"Libya has entered a new era of historical development," said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu at a regular daily news briefing.

China hopes Libya will realize social stability and carry out its political and economic reconstruction as soon as possible, Jiang said when asked to comment on the current situation in Libya.

"The international community should focus on Libyan people's well-being and regional peace and stability," Jiang said.
