Senior Guangdong political adviser under investigation
Guo Yonghang, a senior political adviser in Guangdong province, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced Friday.
The announcement was made online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were released.
Public information shows that Guo, 60, a native of Shandong province, joined the CPC in June 1986 and began his career in July 1989 after graduating from Wuhan University in Hubei province.
He has held various positions in Guangdong, including Party secretary of Zhuhai and Party secretary of Guangzhou.
Guo was serving as vice-chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's political advisory body, at the time he was placed under investigation.
