Shanghai Disney Resort initiated a community giving program on Thursday to commemorate its upcoming 10th anniversary, donating 10,000 Shanghai Disneyland park tickets to local nonprofit organizations.

"Shanghai Disney Resort's commitment to supporting and engaging the community goes back to the very beginning of our story," said Murray King, vice-president of public affairs and communications at Shanghai Disney Resort. "As the resort begins its yearlong 10th anniversary celebration, we're absolutely delighted to launch this special community giving program today to continue our long-standing tradition of giving back and further engage the local volunteer community.

"We hope that through inviting community volunteers to experience 'With You, It's Magic+' firsthand, more individuals will be inspired and encouraged to embrace the spirit of volunteerism and bring care and love to our communities," he added.

The initiative includes professional training for community volunteers in partnership with the Shanghai Public Service Foundation for Volunteers. Training content covers skills such as mobilizing volunteers, recruitment and organization of volunteer activities to further promote volunteer services.

Gathered at the launch were representatives from Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Public Service Foundation for Volunteers, and the seven recipient organizations, alongside approximately 500 volunteers from these organizations who also participated in a full day of professional training and experience sharing.

With the official launch of the program, the seven nonprofit organizations will conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine which volunteers will receive the donated tickets. To qualify, volunteers must meet specific criteria, including having accumulated more than 10 hours of volunteer service within the specified period. Eligible volunteers can apply through their respective nonprofit organizations according to established procedures.

The community giving program is the first special community giving program to be launched during the 10th anniversary period. Since breaking ground in 2011, Shanghai Disney Resort has contributed over 77,000 hours of community volunteer service, impacting nearly 1.75 million people, according to the resort.

Shanghai Disney Resort will celebrate its 10th anniversary on June 16. Beginning March 20, the resort will introduce a series of diverse special experiences.
