BEIJING -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Saturday emphasized efforts to ensure transportation services during the Spring Festival travel rush, focus on workplace safety and social stability, and improve the quality of tourism services, ensuring people enjoy a happy and peaceful holiday.

Li, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection tour of the Ministry of Emergency Management.

At the ministry, the premier visited and talked with on-duty personnel.

Spring Festival is a time for family reunions, making effective duty arrangements essential, Li said, adding that all localities and departments must strictly follow on-duty rules, ensure sufficient staffing, and improve emergency plans.

The premier inspected transportation safety and services for the Spring Festival travel rush through video system.

He emphasized that the travel rush serves as a critical test of transportation service capabilities, urging coordinated efforts to manage transportation capacity, optimize convenience measures, and enhance support services such as charging, refueling and transfers. Additionally, preparations for adverse weather conditions should be strengthened, he said.

The premier heard reports on workplace safety work in key sectors including mining, hazardous chemicals, firefighting and major construction projects. He emphasized strengthening safety supervision in key industries and fields, ensuring effective risk prevention for fireworks and hazardous chemicals, prioritizing safety management in industrial and mining enterprises, and strictly regulating hazardous operations to prevent major and catastrophic production accidents.

He emphasized the importance of inspecting potential hazards in crowded areas, as well as improving safety management and maintaining firefighting facilities.

On holiday tourism, Li said more people are traveling in holidays, and it is imperative to strengthen service awareness and refine comprehensive support services across the entire chain, including transportation, catering, accommodation and shopping.
