Lifetime scenic spot passes for tourists
The Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Sichuan province launched a lifetime travel pass policy on Wednesday to attract more tourists from around the world to its scenic areas. The policy, claimed to be the first of its kind in China, features two types of lifetime passes: one for individual scenic spots and the other for a group of 14 attractions. The latter, priced at 317 or 318 yuan ($46), grants holders lifetime access to the prefecture's 14 top scenic spots, including Hailuogou Glacier and Daocheng Yading, according to Feng Fagui, governor of the prefecture. Single-entry tickets to all of these sites would normally cost a combined 1,091 yuan, Feng said. Sales began immediately after a launch ceremony via official channels, including a WeChat miniprogram and Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok).
