The Foreign Ministry warned on Tuesday that Tokyo's plan to revise its security documents this year will "inevitably damage the peace of the region".

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi vowed in her New Year news conference that she will advance discussions on realizing the revision of her country's three security-related documents this year.

Takaichi also publicly blamed Beijing and Pyongyang for constantly building up military capabilities.

As per Japanese media reports, the key points of the revision include increasing defense spending, revising the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles", lifting restrictions on arms exports, and developing offensive military capabilities, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told a daily news conference in Beijing on Tuesday.

This reflects Japan's dangerous trend of accelerating its "remilitarization", which will inevitably damage the peace of the region, and "the international community must remain highly vigilant", she said.

She said Japan's right-wing forces "are good at creating disguises and crafting false narratives, constantly shifting attention, provoking neighbors, creating troubles, and hyping tensions."
