PLA practices seizure of key ports during drills in waters to east of Taiwan

NANJING -- The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command on Tuesday conducted drills in the waters to the east of Taiwan Island, focusing on subjects of all-dimensional force projection, breaching and raid by elite forces, as well as seizure of key ports, according to the theater command.
Task forces of amphibious assault ships, destroyers, frigates, and unmanned aerial vehicles were dispatched to conduct the drills, it said.
The drills tested the capabilities of task force coordination, systemic operations, and precision strikes on key targets, the theater command added.
