A reality television show that features a blend of both domestic and international celebrities traveling to major cities throughout China to delve into the local culinary culture has recently been broadcast on Hunan Satellite TV and online video-sharing platform Mango TV.
In the first episode of the show A Delicious Guess, celebrities including Taiwan singer Ella Chen Chia-hwa, American Chinese pop idol Amber Josephine Liu, Chinese singer Gong Linna, Vietnamese entertainer Chi Pu and Malaysian actress Joey Chua travel to Quanzhou, Fujian province in South China.
They savor Quanzhou’s authentic delicacies,such as jiangmuya (braised duck with ginger), uncover lesser-known tales of local culinary professionals, and explore the local culture in historical attractions.
During the journey, participants engage in direct communication, sharing their reflections and discuss eating habits from various countries. This enables them to transmit the profound influence of cultural connections and the charm of Chinese culinary traditions to the audience.
Quanzhou, recognized by UNESCO as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, holds great significance in China’s realm of international cultural exchange.
