1-billion-ton oil and gas area discovered in Tarim oilfield in Xinjiang
The Tarim oilfield branch of PetroChina, China's largest oil and gas producer, said on June 18 that it had discovered a new ultra-deep oil and gas area with reserves of 1 billion tons.
The new area is the largest petroleum discovery in the Tarim Basin in the last 10 years, the company said.
