Soccer-themed park launched in Shanghai
Shanghai Juss International Sports Center Co. Ltd on Thursday held an inauguration ceremony for the city's first soccer-themed park.
The event was attended by a host of soccer players and officials including Shanghai Vice-Mayor Chen Qun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Municipal Sports Bureau Xu Bin and deputy secretary of the Jiading District Party Committee Lu Fangzhou.
Located in Anting Town in the city's Jiading district, the sprawling 420,000-square-meter park comprises 18 fields for 11-a-side matches and 32 five-a-side pitches. The park also comes with 25 basketball courts, 800 parking lots, service centers, scenic pathways for jogging and a host of other amenities.
The new facility, which is part of the 2.8-square-kilometer Shanghai Municipal Sports Park, will be officially opened to the public on Jan 1, 2020.
