China and New Zealand inked four documents to promote cooperation in the tax, agriculture, finance and science sectors at a signing ceremony witnessed by Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in Beijing on Monday morning.

A joint declaration on climate change was released after their meeting at the Great Hall of the People.

Bilateral ties have seen stable development and the nations should strengthen political trust, pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, Premier Li said in the meeting. They should seek the most of their common interests to move forward the comprehensive strategic partnership, he said.

China is willing to align the Belt and Road Initiative with New Zealand's development strategies, and deepen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, animal husbandry, finance, tax, infrastructure and other fields, Premier Li said. He also called for strengthened ties in tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
