In March 2015, William, Duke of Cambridge, visited China and delivered an invitation to visit Britain from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to President Xi Jinping.
Beijing was the first stop of Prince Wiiliam's four-day visit to China and the prince also traveled to Shanghai and Yunnan province, where he visited an elephant sanctuary and a nature reserve.
