BANGKOK - Two South Koreans were missing and 14 Chinese injured after a speedboat and a long-tail boat collided off Phuket Island in Thailand on Sunday afternoon.

At around 3:30 pm local time, a speedboat named "Queen Star" collided with a long-tail boat while heading from Phi Phi Island back to Phuket, China's consular office in Phuket quoted local police as saying.

There were 37 foreign tourists aboard the speedboat, who were from China, South Korea and Western countries, according to the office.

The injured have been rushed to three local hospitals for treatment, including 14 Chinese tourists who were slightly wounded, the office said.

The search for the missing Koreans is underway, local police said.
