A reveler is tossed into the air by festival goers during the setting off the pyrotechnic chupinazo rocket marking the official opening of the festival in Spain, July 6, 2014. Revelers from around the world gathered in Pamplona town square to kick off the 2014 San Fermin, a traditional Spanish festival which began in 1591. It now attracts hundreds of thousands of people annually, having become world famous after Ernest Hemingway published his novel The Sun Also Rises in 1926, in which its events were central to the plot.
