Hannover Messe expects successful presentation

HANOVER, Germany - With Hannover Messe 2012 opening soon, the organizer of the fair said Tuesday that he expected a major success of the fair itself and a spectacular presentation of its official partner China.

Under the theme "Greentelligence", Hannover Messe 2012 will hold eight flagship fairs on industrial technology with an aim to help firms achieve higher output with lower energy cost.

"The timing of the fair couldn't be better," said Dr. Wolfram von Fritsch, board chairman of the Deutsche Messe AG, at a press conference here.

"The ongoing debate on sustainability and the energy transition is kicking the world's industrial innovators into even higher gear," he said, adding that "the innovations on show at Hannover Messe will demonstrate that sustainability and the energy transition are technologically achievable."

The fair, set to be held from April 23 to 27, will attract some 5,000 exhibitors from 65 countries and regions. Almost half of these exhibitors come from outside Germany, among which nearly 500 came from China.

China has transferred its economic development mode to a more sustainable one, with the new five-year-plan devoting more efforts on green energy, and areas once dominated by heavy industry have become modern economic centers characterized by sustainable progress, said Deutsche Messe AG.

Being the official partner of Hannover Messe 1987 and 2012, China has changed a lot over the years, said Dr. von Fritsch.

China is expected to "offer a spectacular presentation" under the slogan "green + intelligence" this year, and "will raise the standard of the Messe partner to a high level," he added.

Starting in 1947, the Hannover Messe has become a leading showcase for global industrial and technological development, and holds annually at the western German city of Hanover.
