SEOUL - A base for South Korean reconstruction workers in Afghanistan came under what appears to be yet another rocket attack, local reports said Tuesday.

A rocket reportedly landed late Monday outside the base, located in the Afghanistan city of Charika, at 11:27 pm local time. No casualties have been reported.

It marked the ninth attack this year believed to have targeted the base, and the fourth since the recent death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He was killed in Pakistan by US forces.

Retaliatory attacks targeting foreign military installations and government facilities by bin Laden sympathizers have been on the rise in the region.

South Korean currently has some 340 troops stationed in the conflict-ridden country to help protect a team of civilian reconstruction workers, and has beefed up security around the base for aid workers amid growing terrorist threats.
