Court dismisses last petition against Musharraf's reelection(Xinhua)
Updated: 2007-11-22 16:28 ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Thursday dismissed the last petition against President Pervez Musharraf's reelection, a local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported. "A full court of SC validated Musharraf's reelection through its ruling," the DAWN NEWS report said. Musharraf gained a crushing victory in the presidential elections on October 6. However, the Supreme Court on October 5 barred the Election Commission from issuing an official notification of the result before a final verdict was given on petitions challenging Musharraf's presidential candidacy. |
