Man sets world record for bathing in ice cubes

A 60-year-old man, wearing nothing but shorts, has broken the world record by taking the longest bath in a container filled with ice cubes for 115 minutes, Chinanews.com reported.

Jin Songhao, from Jiamusi city, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, broke the record on a reality show called "Challenge the Impossible" broadcast by China Central Television (CCTV) on Sept 13.

"After 113 minutes I felt cold and it was hard to speak properly," Jin was quoted as saying. "The host asked me whether I wanted to give up. But I was almost there, so I gathered all my strength to hold on for two more minutes."

Jin set the previous record of 113 minutes and 10 seconds last year.

Starting cold-resistance training in 1986, Jin said he had always aspired to go to the south and north poles to endure the blistering cold.

In our next story, meet the unlucky robber who was caught within 10 minutes.
