Jinan citizens donate blood to help new mother

Hundreds of residents in Jinan, Shandong province voluntarily queued up at a local blood donation station on Wednesday evening, to help a pregnant woman who has suffered amniotic fluid embolism while delivering a baby, qlwb.com.cn reported.

The 29-year-old mother suffered the dangerous condition after her delivery in a local hospital, which led to the excessive postpartum bleeding later.

The blood center at that time had inadequate supplies of AB type blood, which was the mother's blood type.

Hundreds of residents called the blood center and voluntarily queue up at the blood donation station after they heard the news from media reports.

As of 9 o'clock on that night, the blood center has collected AB type blood from dozens of blood donors, and the mother is in a stable condition now for the emergency treatment.
