Puppy love or bear necessities?

Wang Kaiyun, a villager in Southwest China's Yunnan province, bought two "dogs" from a Vietnamese on the China-Vietnam border in 2013. He fed and bathed them like all pet owners, according to Chinanews.com.

As time passed, his pets grew larger and larger and increasingly didn't look like dogs. Sometimes they grabbed chickens and ate them.

Wang finally realized the two animals he had been raising for the past two years were not dogs but national Class-B protected black bears, which cannot be raised privately in China.

The man has since sent the pair to local forest police. They will now live safely at an animal protection center.

In our next story, students and professors at a university create a whole new classroom.
