Kindergarten pupils asked meaning of drug

A father from Fujian province complained that his child has been asked to participate in an online competition by the kindergarten that increases burden on the parents and their children.

Although the questions are meant to increase their knowledge about safety, when the father logged on into the website there was a question asking the meaning of opium, heroin and hemp, which is far beyond the understanding of a nursery school pupil, he claimed. The father said the questions are fit for primary and secondary school students, not for kindergarten.

An officer from the local education bureau replied that the competition is held every semester, and Fujian province pays attention to safety education and the kindergarten pupils are also included. The activity is not compulsory but parents and their children are encouraged to participate.
