The 12th CAEXPO Roundtable Meeting on Investment Cooperation, sponsored by the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce of China, was held in Nanning on the morning of Sept 18.

The roundtable meeting was themed on "strengthening cooperation in near-port industry and logistic parks, accelerating construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road", and invited officials with investment promotion agencies of China and the 10 ASEAN countries as well as representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat. All the participants held discussions and exchanged their views on promoting cooperation in near-port industry and fueling construction of the Maritime Silk Road by making use of international capacity cooperation and the CAEXPO as a platform for exchanges and cooperation. Industrial sectors to be highlighted and major topics for 2016 were discussed.

Mr. Zhang Yuzhong, deputy director-general of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce of China, Madam Panchai with the ASEAN Secretariat, Mr. Chen Hai, vice secretary-general of the CAEXPO Secretariat and officials representing investment promotion agencies of ASEAN countries attended the meeting and made speeches.

Undoubtedly, the roundtable meeting will have profound significance and influence for us to improve the long-term mechanism for two-way investment promotion, strengthen cooperation in major near-port industrial sectors and building logistic parks, to expedite maritime connectivity between China and ASEAN, enrich the China-ASEAN Information Harbor, expand two-way investment and promote the China-ASEAN investment cooperation to yield more tangible outcomes.
