Sanmenxia's GDP grows to $8.76 b in 2014

Sanmenxia's total GDP reached 54.14 billion yuan ($8.76 billion), up 9.6 percent year-on-year, ranking 6th across the province in the first half of 2014, according to the local government.

The secondary industry continued to be a major engine, accounting for 79.5 percent of the total GDP, taking up 7.6 percent of the GDP growth, among which, manufacturing contributed 74 percent of the total GDP, driving GDP up by 7.1 percent.

Primary and tertiary industries performed well in the second quarter, growing 5 percent and 11 percent year-on-year, up 0.4 percent and 6.2 percent from the first quarter’s increase, respectively.

Closely following policies from the central government, the economy in Sanmenxia has maintained a good momentum of stable growth this year.
