The China International General Aviation Convention 2013 (CIGAC), held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, closed on Oct 20.

According to the convention organizing committee, the special event to promote China’s general aviation industry witnessed the trade of 106 general aviation planes between convention participants. In addition, cooperation contracts valued at roughly 22.9 billion yuan ($2.76 billion) were signed at the convention.

In total, 508 enterprises in the general aviation industry were attracted to take park in the convention, including firms from China, the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, Australia and New Zealand. More than 1,200 businesspeople, experts and officials participated the meeting.

During the four-day event, some 140 general aviation planes were displayed for trade and cooperation. Stunt flights were also held to show off the excellent quality of the planes and to encourage the participants.

The CIGAC is a special event for international cooperation and exchange in the general aviation industry. It is held every two years in Xi'an, the permanent home of the convention. The first convention, approved by the State Council, was held in 2009.
