The 2013 Dujiangyan Night Beer and Music Festival kicked off on August 10 in Dujiangyan, a well-known city under the jurisdiction of Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province.

The 7-week long event will feature performers from different parts of China - including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Lijiang and Yangshuo - who will entertain the audience with various styles of music.

Visitors will have the opportunity to relax with a beer at night – and interactive games and special promotions are also part of the festival.

Residents of Chengdu and its surrounding areas often head to Dujiangyan to avoid the scorching summer heat, and the city of Dujiangyan aims to promote the festival in a bid to attract more visitors.
