Large Medium SmallA display of jinsi nanmu furniture is underway. Nanmu was often used for woodwork in ancient times, because of its resistance to decay and smooth texture.
The wood has a polished shimmering surface and is termed jinsi, which literally means gold threads. The exhibition presents nine furniture items from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, as well as several new creations.
