The sacrificial ceremony marking the 1884th anniversary of Hua Tuo's birth was held on Sept 9 at Hua Zu Temple in Bozhou, East China's Anhui province. Officials from the central government as well as dignitaries in the Eastern Chinese city were invited to share this sacred moment.
With traditional Chinese oblation offered on the altar, Yuan Hua cottage at Hua Zu Temple was decorated in a solemn way.
Candle, incense and libation were requisites at the beginning of ceremony at 8:30 am, and after that the ritualist read the tribute to the memory of Hua Tuo's birth.
All the officials and other participants prayed for Bozhou, a city renowned for its traditional Chinese medicine, by signing and making wishes on a long strip of 18.84 meters.
