Fuzhou to have 7 subway lines

FUZHOU - An overall length of 184.2 kilometers underground railway which consists of 7 subway lines carries out its construction plan in Fuzhou. "Early this year, close attention?is paid?to housing demolition, relocation of the pipelines to ensure a comprehensive construction in the second half of the year." said Ye Chen, vice-general manager of Fuzhou Subway Corporation.
"It is estimated that the population in Fuzhou urban area in 2020 will?reach up to 4,100,000. Merely rely on ground traffic won't meet the peoples' demand. The development of subway traffic is extremely urgent."?said Lin Hanjuan, Fuzhou government news spokesman and deputy secretary general. "To develop?the subway system can not only relieve urban transportation pressure but also?promote city's comprehensive strength and boost its sustainable development." Lin added.
