Should students get paid for good grades?

Scholarships are invitations for paid places at prestigious schools and universities, not to be confused with money rewards. It is easy to just offer and hand out cash (thereby encouraging corruption and cheating). It is far harder to arrange scholarships, so typically once again the easy way out without any thought as to the consequences.
