Beijing Olympic opening ceremony to last 3.5 hours

The Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games says the opening ceremony, starting at 8 pm Beijing Time on August 8th next year will last 3 and a half hours.
The opening ceremony begins with the entrance of the athletes, followed by an artistic program lasting one and a half hours and finally the lighting of the flame.
Officials say the ceremony will represent a "high-level Olympics with distinctive features".
