Stuttgart -- Athletes, officials and journalists attending the World Gymnastic Championships had a chance to familiarize themselves with Beijing by visiting an exhibition on the Chinese capital's efforts to improve its environment.

The visitors showed great interest in the exhibition, which opened on the same day the nine-day gymnastics contest started in Stuttgart.
The photographs, charts and promotional films showed the visitors Beijing's scenic spots, brand new Olympic venues and recent achievements in improving air quality, saving energy and conserving water resources. Impressive data and eye-catching charts also made people aware of Beijing's endeavor to cut vehicle emissions.
Many visitors left the exhibition with a sense that Beijing's drive to improve its environment deserves to be better known.
