Hubei-Japan Culture Week opens in Wuhan

The Hubei-Japan Culture Week started on June 16, in Wuhan. Wang Guosheng, the governor of Hubei province, Tian Chengzhong, vice-governor, and Japanese Ambassador to China, Uichiro Niwa attended the opening ceremony. Tian and Uichiro Niwa made speeches at the ceremony.

Unichiro Niwa said that China and Japan are important partners. As the second largest trade partner of Hubei, Japan has 250 companies investing in Hubei.

Hubei-Japan Culture Week was one part of Chinese and Japanese Communication Year activities. During the event, Japanese culture and art would be introduced to Hubei people, such as the tea ceremony, ikebana, Japanese movies and music.

At the opening ceremony, Wang and Unichiro Niwa paid a visit to the picture exhibition of the 40 anniversaries of the normalization of Sino-Japanese relations. Wang then spoke to Unichiro Niwa, the chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and other Japanese guests.
