A group of more than 100 pilgrims from Taiwan concluded a successful visit to Wudang Mountain on July 10, 2011. This was the first time for the people of Taiwan’s Lianjiang county — commonly referred to as Matsu -- to gather such a large religious group for the Wudang Mountain pilgrimage.

They arrived at Wudang on July 5 and, in addition to the pilgrimage, visited popular tourist attractions in neighboring cities such as Xiangyang and Wuhan. The people of Matsu were enthusiastic about the activity, with 110 people taking part. For many, it was the first visit to the mountain and they were exited from the start.

The Taoist religious group which organized the Wudang visit said that the purpose of activity was to increase religious and cultural communications across the Taiwan Strait and form friendship. They also hope to get more people from the mainland to learn more about Matsu.
