This is responsible for cases involving marital or family disputes, individual rights, labor, real estate, or rural land contract disputes handled by the Supreme People’s Court, and civil cases where the defendant challenges a legal judgment or ruling by a lower people's court, and guiding trials and functions of people’s courts.
