Supreme People’s Court Vice-President Jing Hanchao, leading a Chinese delegation, visited the UK and Switzerland from Oct 10 to17. He attended the second China-UK Judicial Roundtable at the invitation of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. He was invited to Switzerland by the TALMA.

At the roundtable, held on Oct 14 with a theme of “jurisdiction and the media”, Jing spoke on the growing openness of Chinese courts in recent years.

He said that courts in China are adopting various broadcasting platforms to publicize trial procedures, documents and execution information. Courts are also actively tapping new channels such as weibo, WeChat and news ports to enhance communication.
