Changzhi city in Shanxi province will build an aviation industry park with an investment of 4 billion yuan ($613.28 million), according to an agreement signed between Changzhi High-Tech Industrial Development Area and the Chinese Civil Aviation Technological Development Co on Jan 7.
The Changzhi Aviation Industry Park, covering an area of 12 square kilometers, will focus on civil aircraft for domestic use and construct an aviation industry project with a whole industrial network including aircraft refitting services, air transportation, aeronautical education and aviation-related trade.
As the birthplace of Chinese civil aviation, Changzhi now has one civil airport, one military airport, an aircraft repair plant for the Naval Aeronautical University, and a school for aeronautical education. There have also been many companies, such as Shanxi Aerospace Qinghua Equipment Co and Zhongde Group, supporting the construction of the aviation industry park and the city’s aviation development.
