The Fenjiu Culture scenic area in Shanxi province has recently been included in the list of 10 national industrial tourism demonstration bases released by China National Tourism Administration –– the first of its kind in the province.
The industrial tourism demonstration bases with high historical and cultural value and creative tourism products will fully display the industrial process, technological achievements and industrial relics, as well as offer experience programs, according to the selection standard.
Fenjiu liquor, with its rise to fame dating back 1,500 years, is a brand of spirit from Lyuliang, Shanxi. The Fenjiu Culture scenic area, with its brewing techniques recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, has supported the development of the local Fenjiu liquor industry and industrial tourism.
