Taiyuan city in Shanxi province will cooperate with Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on building an advanced computing center, according to an agreement signed on Nov 18.
The Shanxi Advanced Computing Center will aim to become a domestically advanced computing and big data center based on the technical resources of CAS innovation and industrialization alliance for advanced computing technology and advantages of Taiyuan city and Shanxi Demonstration Area for Economic Transformation and Reform in resources, policies and locations.
The center will establish a computing and data service platform, develop a research and development center as well as an industrialization base of scientific achievements, and incubate leading technological companies.
Once built, the advanced computing center will provide impetus to economic transformation and R & D of Taiyuan and Shanxi province.
