A China-Europe project fair for Shanxi’s industrial transformation and upgrading under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative commenced in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, on Nov 8.
The fair, hosted by Shanxi Chamber of International Commerce and the Association for Chinese Lawyers in Europe (ACLE), aimed to facilitate business-matching between Shanxi and European companies and establish a platform for them to communicate and cooperate.
Seizing opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative, Shanxi will further open-up as a major move to change its resource-based economy and industrial structure, according to Chen Hecai, director of Shanxi Chamber of International Commerce.
Some 40 experienced ACLE lawyers explained policies regarding overseas investment, mergers and acquisitions, and equity transfer, and gave advice to Shanxi companies at the fair, which included a promotion meeting featuring investment in European countries and a business-matching activity.
More than 150 Shanxi companies negotiated with businesses from 10 European countries regarding 129 projects in various fields including tourism, medical instruments and e-vehicle manufacturing.
