Jiading holds high-tech expo

The opening ceremony of the 2013 Shanghai High-Tech Expo – themed on "innovation, cooperation and transformation" – was held in the city's Automobile Exhibition Center on August 29. Xu Yibo, secretary-general of the Shanghai municipal government; Gao Yun, head of Jiading district; and Ma Chunlei, secretary of the district, attended.

The four-day event, which was only two days in the past, has added promotional campaigns for technology products and technology tourism on its agenda. It also continues to welcome experts, scholars and enterprise representatives to share their thoughts on issues like micro-technology, the building of smart cities and information security of e-businesses.

The expo showcases recent developments in smart city projects and R&D progress for new energy automobiles in Jiading subpark of ZJ Innopark – a national level industrial development zone. It also has special areas for product launch and investment promotion campaigns.

During the ceremony, participating leaders awarded excellent individuals and communities for their contributions to technology breakthroughs in areas such as new materials and new energy machinery.

The expo coincides with various activities such as seminars on development of the micro-technology industry, management of excellent personnel in the auto industry, the building of smart cities, the 2013 National Varsity Debate on Policies, as well as the European Small and Medium-Sized Companies Forum.
