The first highway charging station in Fujian province started test operations on Dec 19, to allow drivers to charge electric vehicles.

The station, located in the Xiaoqiao service center of Jingtai (Beijing-Taipei) expressway, is equipped with four charging facilities. A 30-minute charge enables an e-car to run about 100 kilometers. The service price is still under negotiation. After it is determined, the station will be put into service.

Fourteen other charging stations are also under construction on Fujian highways, which are expected to finish by the end of this year.
