Inmates and police officers held a Spring Festival gala at the women's prison in northeast China's Jilin province on Tuesday evening, to celebrate the coming Spring Festival, East Asia Economy and Trade News reported.

A fashion show drew much attention and won the most applause in the gala. The show featured clothes designed by inmates and police officers at the prison. Nine police officers and 83 inmates designed and made 149 outfits to a professional level.

The prison, which trains inmates in apparel design and clothes-making skills to prepare them for their future lives, also runs regular design competitions.
