The 2014 Qingdao Blue Economy High-Level Overseas Talents Project Symposium will be held from October 18 to 19, according to the Qingdao municipal human resources and social security bureau.

The blue economy symposium will invite one hundred high-level overseas professionals and one hundred experts from the Recruitment Program of Global Experts (1,000 Talent Plan). It will focus on introducing three kinds of overseas professionals: international leaders in scientific and technical research; experts who have entrepreneurial experience overseas or obtain proprietary intellectual property rights and patents for an invention; experts acquiring master's degrees and higher qualifications overseas or have working experience in large foreign corporations, famous universities and scientific research institution.

The municipal human resources and social security bureau and administration of foreign experts affairs will provide information for the program applied by overseas experts who will be provided with an allowance by the government at different levels.

With a history of four years, Qingdao’s Blue Economy High-Level Overseas Talents Project Symposium has created more than 2,000 overseas job opportunities, attracted 459 high-level overseas professionals and signed 374 programs. It is conducive to attracting overseas experts and upgrading industries in Qingdao.
