Introduction to transportation and logistics of Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area

Location --- Situated in the middle of the golden coastline of China and the northern bank of the Yangtze River, near the river mouth, the development zone takes advantage of the "golden coast" and "golden water channel". It connects with the Shanghai-Nanjing highway, the Suzhou-Jiaxing-Hangzhou highway and the Yangtze River highway in the south, with a 60-minute drive to Shanghai. It also links to the Xinyi-Changxing railway and the Ningqi railway, connecting to the Longhai railway, a major arterial railway, and the Beijing-Shanghai railway.

Port --- Nantong port is one of the top ten biggest ports in China and the second largest port along the Yangtze River. It is a hub port of Shanghai International Shipping Centre and a major river port along the downstream of the Yangtze River which is open to the outside, and has comprehensive functions. There are 59 berths operating a capacity of over 10,000 tons and 41 docks of 50,000 tons. It is open to navigation with major harbors around the world and it is also open to three international container lines from Nantong to Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. Nantong Development Zone boasts the resource of the 27.3 km coastline of Yangtze River. There are seven docks with the capacity for 10,000 tons and nine docks of 1,000 tons, with convenient transportation of containers and bulk cargoes.

Aviation --- Nantong Development Zone is 100 km away from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, 150 km from Pudong International Airport and 15 km away from Nantong Airport. Nantong Airport offers flights to Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan and other cities. It is recognized as a main feeder airport and freight station of the Shanghai International Airport hub by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
