Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, situated in the northern part of Qingshan district, Baotou, is engaged in industries of heavy vehicle, new energy, railway, fully-mechanized coal winning, electromechanical and engineering equipment.

The park was built in 2006, with a planning area of 45 square kilometers and 156 projects, reaching a total investment of 48 billion yuan ($7.73 billion) in 2014.

It now?has seven sub-parks, Baotou High-end Equipment Park, Emerging Industrial Park, Beida (Peking University) Science and Technology Park, Lide Motor Center, Small and Medium-sized Private Enterprise Park, Supporting Park for Production and Living and Sino-German Equipment Industrial Park.

The industrial park has great advantages in location and transportation, two kilometers away from the downtown area, 20-minute-drive to Baotou Railway Station and 30-minute-drive to Baotou Airport. In addition, it is close to Beijing-Tibetan Highway, highway G210, International Container Transfer Station and two special railway lines. It is a transportation hub connecting with Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos.

In 2013, the park became the second one in Inner Mongolia autonomous region that reached its total assets of 100 billion yuan. It was awarded as “Baotou National Equipment Manufacturing High-tech Industrialization Base” and “National New Industrialization Demonstration Base” by the science and technology administration department of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
