The Guiyang Big Data Exchange (GBDE) in Guizhou province has become a pioneer of China’s big data industry since beginning operations in 2015.
Based on a dynamic nationwide connection to open government data, GBDE has developed over 3,500 data products over the last few years, appealing largely to numerous enterprises including Chinese Citic Bank and Taikang Life Insurance Co Ltd.
GBDE is a membership-based enterprise. Only approved enterprises have access to data transactions. “One significant function of the data exchange is to guarantee the legality, credibility and to avoid the abuse of data,” said Wang Sanshou, executive president of GBDE.
The exchange will increase its members in future, and continue to provide more tradable products for use within the big data industry chain.
